hey man, happy to see something new from you

your drums are always so chunky but not overbearing, love that for you.
super nice shaker-esque hi hats
that drum fill before the second drop, very good

i kinda wish some of those bass notes were held sometimes and the song is a lil repetitive, but i do like the vibe overall, very nice, slots in your catalogue nicely

would've loved a spacey synth solo on this, but maybe thats just my style

your ability to somehow get frontpaged every time still astounds me

look forward to the next one :)

glad to see you friend. really carved yourself an old school niche there, haven't ya? your ability to find yourself on the front page every time you upload is still ever so impressive.

that bass ebbs a lot, i dig it even if im not a fan of the hollowness of it. that gated pad is lovely, such a nice touch. i do also like that the bass gets a bit of a tremolo at the end there. Love that little ambient fadeout there too, so smooth.

that kick feels a little thin to me and so do the rest of the drums actually, but my brain might've been rotted out by the constant intense music i listen to but it feels like theres a scoop on those cymbals which does make them standout but not in a good way to my ears.

hhhooowever, it is a bit... dull. there's not much happening here

and you gotta work on your mixing man, that high hat is so loud at first

its some pretty alright liquid dnb BUT

why do those drums feel highpassed? also that high hat at the start hurts my ears

and the low end feels.... lackluster? like its missing punch to it? like sometimes i get a glimpse of good heavy bass aaaand then its gone. idk man, the composition is nice, i can definitely appreciate that, but ive heard you mix better than this

however

I feel like the trick with liquid dnb usually is that you want the bass to really fill out the lower end so that it... becomes the star of the show while still being subdued? i dont really get that feeling here, it just feels a bit... empty? I was gonna ask if you forgot the low ends but they came back later? So honestly, compositionally, maybe im just too dumb to get it?

personally, feels like this one is a little lackluster. again, missing some of those low mids but i went back to check some of your other tracks and seems like you never really bother with them, which is fine, but something should grab your attention in their place.

if you were aiming for a bit of an ambient vibe, its good background, just lacking some subwoofer, yknow?

also that gate on the drums? kinda sharp, maybe ease it a lil bit, especially since there isnt much in the treble region so cutting it abruptly makes it jarring cause... theres nothing to cover it up

I'm mostly talking out of my ass here but i hope you can take some of this advice to heart? who knows. all i know is that you can do better than this because ive heard you do better.

yup, in the first section the bass is an octave higher on purpose, for sort of lighter feeling, later it goes lower again

the gate doesnt sound that sharp to me, but maybe my ears are getting old, dunno

It's not bad very bloop bloop
feels like it misses a bit of mids tho
and the kick kinda vanishes sometimes with the chunky bass
but its a vibe

the lead is a bit uh... boring? like it couldve been more. it couldve embellished it better

also that bass is suuuper low you cutting it below 30 right? cause damn

The second drop's like uh... 8th note thing, is really high on the noise, i think you shouldve cleared it a bit so its clearer. unless you meant for it to just be white noise

also you forgot 30 seconds of silence at the end

ya went nuts with the percs and snares didn't you

its not bad but uh its a bit... jarring? by points its like theres too much going on, the sounds are not as easily differentiated from one another

like its not bad but some of the sounds come off a bit... dry?

do like the roll bass tho

you seem to make a lot of liquid dnb, which is swell and all. i would like to see you branch out though. maybe trying for some harder styles? like less dreamy, more headbang?

also bass is a bit loud. dunno how it didnt peak the mix
